Carol supports worldwide clients from her office in the Boston area.

Carol has decades of scientific and legal experience. As a patent attorney, she specializes in drafting and prosecuting patent applications to maximize protection for individual inventors, biotechnology startups, pharmaceutical companies, universities and more.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in microbiology from the University of Iowa and her Ph.D. in molecular biology from Washington University. She was a postdoctoral fellow in the department of human genetics at Yale University and in the biology department at Brown University, and held several laboratory research positions before earning her law degree from the University of Wisconsin.

From her suburban Boston home, Carol relaxes by watching the Red Sox on TV during baseball season and follows figure skating in the offseason. Carol is an experienced birdwatcher and enjoys observing wild birds in the local area, as well as her backyard bird feeders. Carol is a novice gardener and counts among her successes "growing more flowers than weeds."
